This Fall, our members represented SWE UW at WE23, the world’s largest conference for women in engineering and technology.
the Experience
Interacting with other SWE members across the nation was so exciting! I got to meet women from other schools and learn about their work. Attending the keynote speakers was also incredibly inspirational!

We23 in LA was so fun and I got to learn so much from all the speakers and the career fair. I had an incredible time connecting with engineers around the country as well as reconnecting with friends at other SWE chapters. I especially enjoyed the keynote speakers, specifically Kate Maxwell, for encouraging all of us to stay true to ourselves as engineers. We23 was an experience of a lifetime and I look forward to next year.

First Time at We23!
It was my first time attending one of the SWE conferences and it was truly an unforgettable experience! I loved having the opportunity to network with other inspiring women in engineering and felt so empowered after stepping foot outside of the LA Convention Center (especially after the keynote speakers’ talks). While it did seem slightly intimidating at first, you immediately start to feel comfortable after knowing that those around you have similar goals and passions.
