Why should you run for a SWE Exec Position?
You believe in our Mission and want to put work into it to make it come true!
Mission: Empower the next generation of women and nonbinary engineers to find success in their careers.
Great Leadership Growth Opportunities:
Leading a team while facilitating team meetings, resolving conflicts, motivating others, and growing interpersonal skills.
Public speaking and effectively communicating ideas, including at executive meetings, SWE general meetings, and meetings with school staff
Written communication, including professional emails
Planning and leading large-scale events (virtual or in-person) to create a positive impact on your community!
Strong leadership skills and the ability to speak up for the representation of females in engineering
Bonus: Attending WE24 conference!
Election Timeline
Elections Announced
At our March General Meeting on February 29th, we will announce SWE’s 2024 election information as well as the Q&A event with current SWE Execs.
Application Opens: Monday, 3/11
On Monday, 3/11, the SWE Exec application form will officially open. You can find the application link on this site when it is live and descriptions of each role here.
Notes about this year's elections:
You may apply for up to two Executive positions.
If you are the only candidate for the 2 positions you applied for, we will consult you about the situation.
If you apply for an Executive position and do not receive the position, you may still apply for a general officer position when they open.
Candidates are REQUIRED to participate in a Q&A session during the April general meeting on Thursday, 4/11 (Location TBD).
Executive positions will be voted upon by our membership base by Sunday, 4/14.

Please limit your response to 300 words, even if applying to 2 positions.
What is your past involvement with UW SWE?
Please limit your response to 300 words.
A two-minute video to briefly introduce yourself and answer the question: “If elected, what do you want your SWE UW legacy to be, at the end of your term?
If you are applying for multiple positions, please focus on the high-level organizational contribution that you want to make.
It is recommended to upload on YouTube or Google Drive and set it for unlisted or public viewing

Learn About SWE’s Exec Team
During this time, learn about what it’s like to be a SWE Executive Officer!
We will host a Q&A session with the current executive team for you to ask questions about this experience. The Q&A session will be on Sunday, 3/10, from 4-5pm. The Zoom link can be found here: https://washington.zoom.us/j/91382246322

SWE Members will then vote for the executive team, and the voting will close at midnight on Sunday, 4/11. If you have been selected, you will be notified of your role!
