Our corporate partners empower 500+ students to reach their full potential as engineers. See 2022-23 Corporate Mailer now!

SWE UW hosts events and programs to help students of all backgrounds gain access to career opportunities in STEM. Thanks to our sponsors, over 500 members — a record-breaking membership — are inspired to lead meaningful careers as engineers.

As we return from a virtual world, we welcome companies to connect with our members through in-person events. Your support will allow our members to attend the annual WE Conference, fund our members' education, and connect our collegiate members to your company.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, contact us at uwswe.corprel@gmail.com.

Become a mentor

Industry mentorship

Our Industry Mentorship Program looks for professionals to become mentors to our members. The program matches a mentor with a student — usually a third- or fourth-year student looking for job opportunities — who wants to develop their professional skills.

Applications to become a mentor will open later this year. Reach out to uwswe.industrymentorship@gmail.com for additional questions.

SWE Hacks 23

SWE Hacks is our very own Hackathon aimed at students who want to build their coding, design, and teamwork skills. This event is coming back in April 2023 and we’re looking for mentors and judges to help our hackers design projects for social good.

Applications to become a mentor or judge are coming soon.

General Meeting

Our monthly General Meetings (GM) are the most popular events among our members. Students come to GMs because they love to hear updates from the SWE team and talk to companies about career prospects. This year’s meeting topics include:

  • How to Tackle Imposter syndrome (Wednesday, November 9th)

  • Preventing and Overcoming Burnout (Thursday, January 5th)

  • Building with Empathy (Thursday, March 9th)

Every year, our members look forward to dine with recruiters and professionals at the Evening With Industry (EWI) event.

The upcoming EWI event will be held February 21, 2023. If you would like to participate, please refer to our corporate mailer for more details.
