I have thoroughly enjoyed organizing and executing events in the past, and I believe that my creativity, attention to detail, and organizational abilities will be valuable in creating memorable and impactful experiences for our members. One possible new idea could be implementing a “family” system within SWE to help create closer bonds between members. Ultimately, I am running for Vice President of Membership because I am committed to my personal and professional development as a leader and excited to continue making a meaningful impact on the member experience within SWE.
What is your past involvement with SWE at UW?
My involvement with the SWE has been a significant part of my journey since fall quarter of my freshman year. I first joined the high school outreach team as a mentor, providing advice and guidance to young girls interested in engineering. During the rest of my freshman year, I also became the SWE representative in the Engineering Student Council. This role allowed me to advocate for our interests and foster a sense of community within our organization. In my sophomore year, I joined the membership team as the External Affairs Director. Here, I collaborated with external organizations for the events planned such as the Movie Night Mixer with ASME and the 3D Modeling Workshop with Phi Sigma Rho. Throughout my SWE journey, I've honed leadership, communication, teamwork, and event-planning skills. Now, I'm eager to take on new challenges and continue giving back to the community. That's why I'm running for Vice President of Membership. I aim to leverage my experiences to further our mission, empower our members, and foster inclusivity.
