Vice President of Corporate Relations Candidates
Why are you running for this executive position?
I am enthusiastic about the prospect as serving as the VP of Corporate Relations at UW SWE to significantly bolster the relationship between UW SWE and corporate entities, thereby laying a solid foundation for its future growth and success. My background as a project manager at Pup Support has equipped me with valuable experience in communication and collaboration within diverse groups. I have successfully coordinated with various clubs to organize events, honing my ability to navigate different organizational dynamics effectively. Furthermore, my position at UW CoMotion has provided me with firsthand experience in engaging with company executives and representatives at a professional level. In this capacity, I have collaborated with them to identify opportunities for mutual support and growth, demonstrating my capacity for strategic thinking and relationship-building. I aim to create a network of industry professionals that will serve as valuable resources for UW SWE members. This network not only holds the potential to provide internship and career opportunities but also fosters a culture of mentorship and professional development within the organization. I am committed to leveraging my skills and experiences to advance the mission of UW SWE and contribute to its long-term success. I am confident that my passion for strategic thinking, event planning, and relationship-building will enable me to make meaningful contributions as the Vice President of Corporate Relations.
What is your past involvement with SWE at UW?
My past involvement in UW SWE as been as a committed participant in many of UW SWE's events. I have attended almost all of the general meetings in the last year, and have been an active participant in them. Although my past involvement in UW SWE has not previously been significant, I desire to increase my involvement in UW SWE as I feel well-aligned with UW SWE's mission and goals, and have vastly enjoyed my experience at UW SWE's events, hence hope to advance UW SWE achieve its goal of providing a supportive environment for people of all genders to network and grow as engineers.
